Scout Inc. Terms of Use

Article 1 (Purpose and Scope)

These Terms set out the conditions for using Scout Inc. (the "App"), a mobile game provided by SangLimSoft (the "Company"), and the rights and obligations of the Company and users. These Terms apply to all users of the App.

These Terms are posted on this page and can be viewed in the App under "Terms of Use" at the bottom of the Settings screen (gear icon at top right). Matters concerning the processing of personal information are governed not by these Terms but by the Privacy Policy.

Article 2 (Description of the Service)

  1. The App is a single-player management simulation game in which you run a football scouting company, take requests from clubs, observe players, and deliver reports. The App supports Korean and English.
  2. The App is free. Because it has no advertising, in-app purchases, or paid content, these Terms contain no provisions on payment, refunds, or subscriptions.
  3. The App has no sign-up or login. To stop using the App, simply delete it.
  4. The App has no features for users to post text or images, chat with other users, or share game content externally.
  5. Funds and other currency in the game are used only for game progress. They cannot be purchased with money and cannot be exchanged for cash or any other currency.
  6. The players, clubs, leagues, and staff that appear in the game are randomly generated and fictional, and have no connection to any real person or organization. Player attributes, match results, and ratings are calculated according to the game's rules and are not information about real football.

Article 3 (Storage of Game Records)

  1. Game progress records are stored only on your device. The Company does not separately keep or back up game progress records on its servers.
  2. Accordingly, if you delete the App or clear the App's data, or if your device is reset, lost, or replaced, your game progress records will also be lost, and the Company cannot restore them. There is also no feature for transferring records to another device to continue playing.
  3. If you confirm "New Game" on the Settings screen, the records in the current save slot are erased and cannot be restored.

Article 4 (Usage Statistics and Error Information)

To fix problems in the game and resolve errors, the Company receives app usage statistics and error information at a collection server operated by the Company, starting after you consent on the consent screen when you first launch the App. If you do not consent, you cannot start the game. The items sent, the retention period, outsourcing of processing and transfer outside Korea, and your rights and how to exercise them are set out in the Privacy Policy.

Article 5 (User Obligations)

You must not engage in the following conduct.

  1. Modifying the App or distributing a modified App
  2. Copying, selling, or redistributing the App or content included in the App without the Company's permission (items covered by Article 6, paragraph 2 are subject to their licenses)
  3. Interfering with normal operation by sending large volumes of requests by automated means to the collection server or support channels
  4. Impersonating another person when making an inquiry or deletion request
  5. Any other conduct that violates applicable laws

Article 6 (Ownership of Rights)

  1. The rights to the App and the content included in the App (artwork, text, game design, etc.) belong to the Company. However, items covered by paragraph 2 are subject to their rights holders and licenses.
  2. The Galmuri font used in the App is distributed under the SIL Open Font License 1.1, and the open-source software included in the App is subject to the license of each piece of software. The full texts can be viewed under "Open-source licenses" on the App's Settings screen.
  3. The Company grants you the right to use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes in accordance with these Terms.

Article 7 (Changes to and Discontinuation of the Service)

  1. The Company may change the game's content, values, and features through App updates. We make efforts to ensure that existing saves can continue to be used after an update, but there may be unavoidable cases in which they cannot be carried over.
  2. The Company may discontinue distribution or updates of the App for business or technical reasons. In such a case, we will give advance notice on this page to the extent possible.

Article 8 (Disclaimer of Warranties)

The App is provided free of charge and on an "as is" basis. The Company does not warrant that the App will operate without interruption or error on all devices and operating systems.

Article 9 (Limitation of Liability)

  1. The Company is not liable for damages resulting from the following.
    • Loss of game progress records stored only on the device under Article 3 due to deletion of the App, clearing of the App's data, confirmation of "New Game", or reset, loss, failure, or replacement of the device
    • Inability to install or run the App due to circumstances of the operating system, device manufacturer, or app marketplace
    • Consequences arising from your violation of Article 5
  2. Even where the Company is liable, the scope of liability is limited to direct damages that could ordinarily be foreseen. Because the App is provided free of charge, you have paid no consideration to the Company.
  3. If you cause damage to a third party by violating applicable laws or these Terms, you are responsible for that damage.

Article 10 (Exceptions to Limitation of Liability)

Articles 8 and 9 apply only to the extent permitted by applicable laws and do not apply to the following.

Article 11 (Changes to These Terms)

  1. The Company may change these Terms to the extent that doing so does not violate applicable laws.
  2. If we change these Terms, we will post the changes and the effective date on this page. Because the App has no accounts, the Company has no means of notifying users individually.
  3. If you do not agree to the changed Terms, you may stop using the App and delete it.

Article 12 (Governing Law and Jurisdiction)

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea. Any dispute relating to the use of the App shall be brought before the court having jurisdiction under the Korean Civil Procedure Act.
